It was VERY exciting to have sweet Katie come in for her session, as she is a friend and had shared some of her story with me. From every encounter I’d had with Katie at church and various singles functions I’d always had an impression of kindness and a positive spirit coming from her, so I really wanted to highlight her wonderful personality in her images. There was such an air of joy and girliness in the studio…..it was contagious. We started with the pink ruffled ballskirt and then a very ballet-inspired ivory tulle skirt, which is perfect for Katie since she’s a dancer. The dance sequence was SO much fun to do….it’s impossible not to giggle and feel happy when you’re jumping and twirling in a puffy skirt. Then we moved on to a simple white tank and jeans, and I loved how the simplicity focused all the attention on Katie’s expression, eyes, and beautiful skin. Although we had planned all her outfits in advance a vintage black velvet dress I’d found on Ebay arrives the morning of her shoot, and I just had to have her try it. It fit beautifully and looked great with a black petticoat and chiffon skirt with ribbon waist. All in all it was an amazing day!!
Here’s Katie…..
