What IS Portrait Couture? Portrait Couture is a fresh, fashion-inspired style of portraiture that is designed to make you feel and look gorgeous and be confidant and empowered every time you look at your images.

Who should do Portrait Couture? These sessions are for women of all ages, from ‘tweens to grandmothers. There is unique beauty at every stage of life, from the innocence of a girl about to bloom to the glow of a woman with many years well lived. Since each session is tailored to reveal the true beauty of that individual, Portrait Couture sessions are right for any woman.

Where and when do sessions take place? Portrait Couture sessions take place in my studio in Smyrna on Monday through Friday afternoons. You may also choose to have your session at your home, a lovely hotel suite, or another location of your choice providing it is logistically feasible. We can discuss the specifics during your consultation. Travel fees apply for locations outside a 30 mile radius of Smyrna, GA.

What can I expect from the experience?  Portrait Couture is about celebrating and empowering women and revealing their most beautiful selves in photographic art that will be cherished for many years.  The first step is a personal consultation at your home or at the studio. We’ll go over every aspect of the shoot, review the products available and the price list, and create a unique plan for your shoot based on your personality and how you want to use and/or display your images.

On the day of your session you’ll be treated to a beverage and enjoy a professional makeup and hair application for about an hour.  As we begin shooting I’ll be with you every step of the way, directing you from head to toe into flattering positions and coaching you in order to get beautiful, relaxed expressions.  We will shoot for about 60-90 minutes, creating a range of beautiful images in each of your outfits.  After your session slip into a special outfit and head out to enjoy an evening with friends or a spouse and bask in the glow of feeling glam!  In a week or so you’ll visit the studio again for your Ordering Session, where you’ll see your retouched images and purchase the ones you want in your Folio Box or wall print.

What should I bring?   During your personal style consultation prior to the shoot you’ll share your ideas, your vision, any photos or clippings you admire, and together we will plan your session.  Many clients bring at least 5 outfits to choose from:   one white, one black, one rich color, and one dressy item. A Bridal (Glam the Gown) is a bit different because the session will be primarily about one garment, so fewer outfits are needed. Clients have been photographed in everything from a white tank top and jeans to a full ball gown–it’s about what will make YOU feel lovely.  You also have the option of utilizing The Glamour Closet, which is a carefully curated selection of pieces available at the studio.  These pieces include tops, wraps, flowers, accessories, headpieces, evening gowns, vintage, bustiers, and a number of full length skirts that can be combined with your own pieces to create one-of-a-kind looks.  The full length ‘ballgown’ skirts are one size fits most and can accommodate a wide range of sizes.  The view a gallery of Glamour Closet pieces click HERE.
